The project “Partnership for Internships in Tourism and Food Service” no. 2021EY-PCVET-0023 was funded by EEA Grants – 2014 – 2021 from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and was born out of the desire to improve the way of organizing and evaluating internships for students at the Economic High School Arad. It is well known that the training of vocational and technical education students takes place both at school under the guidance of teachers and at the economic agent under the guidance of the economic agents’ internship tutors.

The main objective of this project is to learn from the host institution and the partner companies of the Portuguese schools how to improve learning through practice at the workplace and how to better match the skills acquired by our graduates with the requirements of the labour market. Together with our internship partner, SC HOTEL LEON SRL, we have written this project in the hope that together we can achieve the above mentioned goals.

The project was carried out in 2 fluxes during the period 14 – 25 November 2022 in which 8 teachers from the Economic High School of Arad and two representatives of the partner economic agent – the Hotel Leon participated. During the 5 days, activities took place in the partner school Escola Profissional de Esposende and in 3 of the establishments where the students of the school were unfolding their internship. We had discussions with the teachers and the economic agents about the organisation of the student’s practical training. Project results: – “Guide for the organization and evaluation of practical training in the Economic High School of Arad”- the document will be elaborated by the teachers participating in the study visit, in collaboration with the representatives of SC HOTEL LEON SRL. – 6 programmes for the revised Local Development Curriculum for the qualifications: cook, waiter salesperson in catering establishments.
