The main objective of the project is to create an inclusive culture at the level of the five schools involved in it, by training 78 school teachers and preschool teachers, in each of the four areas necessary to address the effective inclusion of Roma children, namely: student-centered approach, inclusive school, democracy, human rights. On the other hand, the project also has as objectives developing inclusive practices at the level of the five schools, increasing the percentage of parents educated in the matter of discrimination in the five schools by 30% and improving by 50% the skills regarding inclusion for 265 students (minimum 50% Roma) from the five partner schools.<\/p>\n The project’s focus is based on parental activities, mentoring activities, joint activity to celebrate the International Roma Day, social theatre club, activities to improve public speaking and critical thinking (debate club), identification and promotion of successful local models, summer school for crafts, journalism circle (school magazine on inclusion), as well as intercultural camps. All these activities have been documented and updated on the project website, as well as on its Facebook page.<\/p>\n The activities contribute to the access to quality inclusive education for the children and young people of schools from Ilfov County. They also help to promote acceptance and tolerance among young people. The added value that the partnership brings to the project is given, among other things, by the fact that schools with a significant percentage of Roma children, mainly from rural areas, are involved in the project and are constantly confronted with the issue of discrimination and marginalisation.<\/p>\n
